The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy Business Award was awarded to owner and CEO Harald Schmidt by Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Ivanger, at Schleim Castle near Munich.

History of MSR-Electronic
The company was founded in 1999 by graduate engineer Wolfgang Schmidt. At that time, only analog gas detection systems (sensors with an output of 4-20 mA) were available on the market, as well as pneumatic suction systems that sucked air at different points, measured and evaluated it centrally. .
Wolfgang Schmidt saw a gap in the market for digital and bus-compatible gas sensors that can be installed decentrally and wired in star or line configuration.
